You may remember at the beginning of the year we had monthly profiles of staff members who were going above and beyond so we felt they deserved a shout out. Well from this month they are back!
This months highlighted member of the team is … Shane Britton.
Shane is 21 years old and has become an integral part of the team. Initially coming to us via a work placement he is now with us full time. Shane heads up the IT sector making sure data erasure is complete following the correct protocols and fixing/testing anything electronic. Recently thanks to our new line of business with our banner/marketing printer Shane has been hands on making sure everything prints in the best quality and the prints run smoothly. Being a man of many talents Shane also assists in the strip out work in London. Shane’s versatility and his can do attitude are some of the things which make him such a pleasure to work with.
Today I sat down with Shane and had a chat with him about his experiences within the company and some exciting out of work activities.
TRACOuk: Morning Shane, please can you tell me a little bit about what you do day to day?
Shane: Day to day I test all electronics coming in to the warehouse and see if they are suitable for sale. Obviously other days I am working in London doing strip out or helping the team in other ways.
T: What would you say motivates you most about working here?
S: Mainly the friendly environment and everyone helps each other out where they can.
T: What were you doing before you came here?
S: I was doing a placement in Petersfield while I was on job seekers.
T: Can you tell me a bit about what you enjoy doing out of work?
S: Out of work I enjoy sports including football and mountain biking which I do weekly and I am sponsored by Commensal.
T: How did you get in to doing that?
S: I grew up going on rides with my brother so it is always something I have been doing.
T: What would you say has been your best experience outside of work this year so far?
S: Getting engaged and going on various mountain biking trips to Canada, Chili, France and California
T: What are you looking forward to for the rest of the year?
S: I am looking forward to seeing what electronics come in to the warehouse as technology is evolving.
